How to import card charges manually
If you can't link your bank or credit card account, you can manually upload your charges by following these steps.
Create a new Bank Connection
- If this is the first time you'll importing for this card, you'll need to create a new bank connection
- Go to Purchases > Connections
- Click on Add Bank Connection - This is your Destination File when importing.
- Create an Unlinked Account - You'll be prompted for an account type and unique name.
- Select/Unselect the relevant products you'll use the account for (Purchase Reconciler and/or Deposit Verification)
Import Transactions
- Go to your bank/card portal and download the charges
- Select the date range
- Note: Be careful not to overlap prior imports dates and don't include days with pending charges. This generally means you'll need to have a few days lag before importing data.
- Download into csv format
- Include Extended Details if available
- Select the date range
- Go to Purchases > CSV Upload
- Select the Source File (that you just downloaded)
- Select the Destination Account
- Map the columns
- Look for a preset first to see if we've already mapped the card type for you. If not, you can manually select the mapping.
- Note: Make sure that charges are positive numbers and refunds/credits are negative numbers.
- Select Accept Column Mappings
- Verify that there are no rows with errors - Look at the Source File box on the left side of the page.
- Select Import Rows at the bottom of the page.
